Hardware - In this class, you will learn the ins and outs of what a computer is, and the basics of how to use it. From boot to shutdown, Intro to Computers is an essential starting point on your journey in the Digital Equity Program.

Keyboarding/Mousing - The second part of your digital introduction will dive deeper into some of the finer points of using your mouse and your keyboard. For additional practice click here.
Desktop - The first part of this workshop will cover the basics of the Windows Desktop, your starting point for Windows based devices. Topics include startup, taskbars, start menus, systems trays, user options, and shortcuts.

Navigation - Next we'll drill down into the finer points of finding your way around the Windows operating system, with particular focus on the finding your way around the File Explorer and Internet Browsers.

Bring order to your digital and physical workspace in this comprehensive class! We’ll start with file management, teaching you how to create, organize, and retrieve files and folders in File Explorer. You’ll also master naming conventions and sorting techniques.
Next, we’ll show how these same organizational principles apply to printing. Learn how to select printers, adjust print settings, and handle print jobs seamlessly. Whether you’re organizing your digital files or printing them out, this class will give you the skills to stay on top of your tasks.

Part 1 - New to digital communication? We'll start by creating your own email address, and then cover the basics of viewing, creating, editing, and sending messages. We'll also discuss basic email etiquette to ensure your messages are clear and effective. No existing email address is required—just bring your curiosity!

Part 2 - Take the next step and learn how to organize your inbox with categories, folders, and labels, as well as streamline your workflow with filters and email templates. We'll also explore tools like email signatures, scheduling emails, and calendar integration to ensure your communication stays efficient, polished and professional.

​Part 1 - So you got a new device through the Lifeline program at Fortune. Now it's time to master it! In this class you will learn how to navigate, set up, and personalize your new device. This class does lean toward Android based devices, but Apple devices are welcome!

Part 2 - Now that you have your device set up, its time to learn how to use it. This class will explore the special features of the home and app screens, and some essential applications and functions to make you mobile experience as smooth and productive as possible.
Intro to the Cloud

Join this class, where we'll cover the basics of cloud computing, including why it came to be and the different types of cloud services available. We'll explore the pros and cons, guide you through using several popular cloud storage platforms, as well as essential security and privacy best practices to keep your data safe.
